The Gay.date.com dating profile starts off with a few open text boxes to describe yourself and the person you’re looking to meet. There’s a nice question about who is your dream lunch partner followed by another one about good places in your area to take a date to.

You then can choose your preferences for your date via a series of tick boxes followed finally by a few more open text boxes to give examples of your favorite music, films, books etc. Strangely though there are no specific gay orientated questions, a bit of a gap for an online gay dating site?!

There’s the usual quick search at Gay.Date.com and advanced search using the criteria from the dating profile, such as smoking habits, height etc. Then there are a few great one click searches (a nice feature for all dating sites) including- who’s online, who’s new, birthday’s today, people who you’ve viewed. You can also save as many different types of advanced searches as you like.

What about the other  gay dating members? I pulled up searches for London, Manchester and Birmingham and saw very good numbers of active gay daters, for instance 20 active members in Leeds who had logged in within the last hour. Gay.Date.com also seems to cover a good range in ages, interests, and scenes, and definitely isn’t just for the 20-35 London party ‘scene’.
You can contact dating members who interest you by email or send a flirt. There’s also a large chat room where you can find members online and then I.M them from there but there’s no direct I.M button on members profiles.
