Dating Site Review – Single Parent Mingle
 

Single Parent Mingle is a Spark Network dating site so I was expecting a detailed dating profile and I wasn’t wrong. Single Parent Mingle gives you loads of opportunity to show your personality. ‘About Me’ involves the usual core questions about age, ethnicity, languages spoken etc. ‘Fun Facts are a series of questions answered by tick boxes to describe your favorite types of music, films, activities and outdoor activities etc. All fine but I thought it perhaps went into a little too much detail, are separate sections for ‘activities’ and ‘outdoor activities’ really necessary?

On ‘Matching Preferences’ you can show on your own profile the type of single parent you’re looking to date via a series of standard tick box questions on religious preferences, ethnicity etc. It’s a nice section to have but some online daters may prefer not to ‘filter’ out from their own profile in which case just skip. Finally there are seven open text ‘essay’ questions all pretty standard but surprisingly none with a single parent theme.

There’s a huge range of searching and contacting methods at Single Parent Mingle – quick search, advanced search using criteria such as age, body type, new members, keyword search, recently updated members, ‘today’s birthdays’, members currently online and my favorite – a wall of photos which you can click through to take you to a dating profile.

You’ve found someone interesting, what now? Well more choices, you can email, send a ‘smile’ – a one sentence chat up line, e-cards, and ‘sparks’ , similar to ‘smiles’ but where the receiver is given a number of responses to choose from and to break the ice.
Are there good numbers of daters on singleparentmingle? Well this is a specialized dating site so you shouldn’t expect Match.com numbers but it does seem that the big advertising push that Spark did earlier in the year has brought in a lot more U.K S.P Minglers than were registered on this dating site last year.

 

Although Single Parent Mingle could have done a little more to have given the site more of a single parent feel, the site offers enough from its excellent technological features, uncluttered feel, and distinct offering to be given serious consideration by single parents looking to find love, dates and friendship online.
